BCREA Welcomes 2007-2008
President Andrew Peck
Vancouver, BC – May 1, 2007. The British Columbia Real Estate Association (BCREA) welcomes Andrew Peck, a Vancouver broker, REALTOR® and former president of the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver, as its 2007-2008 president.
"This is an exciting time to lead the BC Real Estate Association, as REALTORS® embrace a new Code of Ethics and higher standards for professional education and development," said Peck, a licensed REALTOR® for 24 years. "Real estate has been my livelihood for most of my adult life, and I'm so pleased to have the opportunity to give back to my profession to ensure the continued relevance of REALTORS® in BC."
In 1995, Peck became a co-owner of Royal Pacific Realty Group and currently serves as its managing broker. He has been a real estate volunteer since 1988, and first joined BCREA's Board of Directors in 2004.
Scott Veitch, of Century 21 Veitch Realty in Creston, was elected vice president. Joining Peck and Veitch as officers of the Association are Past President Kelly Lerigny, of Re/Max Nyda Realty in Chilliwack, and Executive Officer Robert Laing.
New directors are Peter Oswell (Kamloops), Scott Russell (Richmond) and Hanne Selby (Chilliwack). Returning for another term as directors are Bill Binnie (West Vancouver), Gretchen Gebhard (Kelowna), Gary McInnis (Victoria), Moss Moloney (Delta), Brian Thompson (Vancouver), John Tillie (Duncan) and Linda Woodruff (Vanderhoof).
BCREA represents 12 member real estate boards and their approximately 17,000 REALTORS® on all provincial issues, providing an extensive communications network, standard forms, government relations, required post-licensing courses and continuing education. To demonstrate the profession's commitment to improving Quality of Life in BC communities, BCREA supports growth that encourages economic vitality, provides housing opportunities, respects the environment and builds communities with good schools and safe neighbourhoods.
